The IEEE Broadcast Technology Society (BTS) will be hosting its first “Women in the Industry” breakfast during the 2019 IEEE Broadcast Symposium in Hartford, Conn., Oct. 1-3. Giving the keynote on Oct. 2 will be Jaclyn Pytlarz, senior engineer at Dolby Laboratories.
BTS said it “is excited to take the opportunity to recognize the accomplishments of women in the Broadcast industry and encourage collaboration of these experts and the Broadcast Technology Society.
“BTS is honored to have Jaclyn Pytlarz, a trailblazer in the industry to be a keynote speaker during the breakfast.” She is a senior engineer at Dolby Laboratories in Sunnyvale, Calif., where she has worked inside Dolby’s Applied Vision Science group since 2014. Her research includes vision science surrounding technologies for High Dynamic Range and Wide Color Gamut displays.
As the display management core algorithm lead, her focus is on developing color mapping and display management algorithms to help maintain consistent imagery on a wide variety of displays. Pytlarz holds a B.S. degree in motion picture science from Rochester Institute of Technology and is currently pursuing her M.S. in computational and mathematical engineering at Stanford University.
She has previously been awarded the IET Best Young Professional Award and the TVNewsCheck 2018 Technology Woman to Watch Award and is an education director for the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers.
